Linton Lock (UK)
At Linton Lock on the River Ouse between York and Harrogate (North Yorkshire) a LANDY hydropower screw is used to generate sustainable energy, in a fish-friendly way.
The screw dimensions 3 meter diameter and 8.5 meter length. It concerns an open compact Archimedes screw, which requires minimal civil work on site.
Late October 2017 a second hydropower screw is installed adjacent to the existing one. This so far largest hydropower screw in the world, measures 5 meter diameter. Final transport to the UK took place by ship at Landustrie's own quayside, as this screw was far too large for the road.
